Cost for Hospital Procedures
Hospitals are required to be in compliance with the hospital price transparency requirements set forth in CMS-1717-F2, referred to as the “Hospital Price Transparency Final Rule." To help you most effectively plan and budget for medical expenses, Holy Redeemer Health System is pleased to provide access to clearly stated standard charges for many services we provide.
No Surprises Act
Additionally, as of January 2022, the No Surprises Act went into effect to protect patients from unexpected medical bills resulting from care received in situations where a patient has little or no control over their care providers. The No Surprises Act also guarantees that emergency services must be provided and covered without the need for prior authorization and regardless of whether a provider is in-network or not. Learn more about the No Surprises Act here.
You can also visit the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for more information about your rights under federal law and The Pennsylvania Department of Insurance at 1-877-881-6388.

If you are scheduled for an elective procedure and want to understand what out-of-pocket costs to expect, please call your insurer to review your insurance benefits and out-of-pocket patient responsibility amounts for hospital services. Many insurance websites can assist subscribers in providing estimates of patient responsibility amounts with cost estimator tools. Additionally, you use this link to get an up-to-date estimate of costs (deductible, co-insurance, and co-pay), customized to your health insurance and the services you selected.
The Healthcare Financial Management Association has developed a guide to help consumers understand where to get answers to their questions about health care prices, compare prices among providers, and manage their out-of-pocket costs. Download their guide.
If you are uninsured, please call our Financial Counseling staff at 215-344-9650 for information about Medical Assistance, Holy Redeemer Health System Financial Assistance, and self-pay rates.
