About Joyce Varughese, M.D.

Dr. Joyce Varughese specializes in surgical treatment of pre-cancers and cancers of the female reproductive tract. She is board certified and fellowship trained in gynecologic oncology surgery. She is also trained in robotic surgery. 

In addition to her surgical practice, Dr. Varughese cares for women with hereditary syndromes that increase their risk for gynecologic malignancy. Her professional interests extend to quality of life among gynecologic cancer survivors, complementary medicine, and global health, especially women’s health.

Dr. Varughese earned her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, serving as administrative chief resident, at Yale University, where she also completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons.

In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Varughese is a clinical assistant professor at Temple University and at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. An active member of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, she is also a visiting professor at Uganda Cancer Institute, where she serves as an international site mentor in its gynecologic oncology fellowship program.
