About Harpaul Sandhu, MD, FHRS

Dr. Paul Sandhu specializes in cardiac electrophysiology, or the management of arrhythmias, as part of his holistic cardiology practice. He places a strong emphasis on patient education and empowerment, with all medical decisions made by doctor and patient together.

His clinical interests include complex arrhythmia management and catheter ablation (including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia). He also has extensive experience with pacemaker, defibrillator (ICD) and biventricular devices, including laser lead extraction, and is adept in new ablation and implantable device technologies.

Dr. Sandhu also interprets echocardiograms (cardiac ultrasounds) and conducts and interprets cardiac stress tests. Additionally, he manages patients with chronic coronary artery disease, valvular heart diseases and congestive heart failure.

Dr. Sandhu earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. His credentials are notable for board certification in five medical specialties—Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Internal Medicine. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Punjabi.

Dr. Sandhu has a deep commitment to the doctor-patient relationship. He focuses on educating his patients, so that they fully understand the breadth of their cardiovascular disease problem and can actively participate in the dialogue to create a treatment plan that meets their needs.

Having spent most of his life in the Philadelphia area, Dr. Sandhu is a big local sports fan, especially of the Phillies. He also enjoys all things outdoors, including hiking and keeping busy with his three young children.
