About Andrew Benjamin Hollander, MD
As a radiation oncologist with a deep interest in science and lifelong desire to help people improve their well-being, Dr. Andrew Hollander treats a wide range of cancer diagnoses, including those of the breast, prostate, lungs, brain, head and neck, as well as GI and gynecologic malignancies.
Dr. Hollander uses advanced technologies such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and high dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy in his full-service practice.
Cancer can affect any part of the body, so as a radiation oncologist Dr. Hollander collaborates closely with a wide variety of specialists to develop treatments and care plans. Working at the forefront of medical technology, with strong ties to some of the best cancer centers in the country, he keeps abreast of new developments in cancer care that lead to successful treatments with fewer side effects.
His methods are advanced, but his goals are simple: to ensure that people in his care receive world-class treatment while having the least stressful experience possible. Dr. Hollander forms close relationships with patients, considering it a privilege to help them move from challenging diagnoses to healing and better health. He respects each patient’s wishes and autonomy while working with them to create a treatment plan that addresses their specific cancer diagnosis and unique needs. Dr. Hollander cares deeply about treating cancer, but also about reducing its negative impacts on patients and their families.
Dr. Hollander received his BS in Biology with a concentration in neural and behavioral sciences from Haverford College. He earned a master’s degree in translational research and his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine and his residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in radiation oncology.
